Time for Government to Spend Less

While families and businesses have responded to these challenging economic times by reducing spending, the State Legislature passed a budget last year that actually increases spending by more than 10 percent.
A Pew Center study found Wisconsin’s budget deficits to be one of the worst in the country and we start the next budget cycle with nearly a $2 billion deficit.  We need to change the culture in Madison to protect taxpayers from the out-of-control spending that threatens the future prosperity of our state.
Chad Weininger has a record of cutting through red tape and reducing spending.  If we elect Chad as our state representative he will:

  • Fight for a constitutional amendment that puts limits on government spending.
  • Support setting aside any additional revenue in a rainy day fund or for tax relief.
  • Never vote for a budget that increases the state’s structural deficit.
Lower Taxes

Wisconsin has always suffered from being one of the highest taxed states in the country.  To make matters worse, the Democrats in Madison voted to increase taxes and fees by more than $3 billion in the most recent state budget.
Madison increased property taxes, income taxes, capital gains taxes, the garbage tax – they even put a tax on sick people and pregnant moms by imposing a new hospital tax.
Chad Weininger will stand up to the tax-and-spend special interests.  If we elect Chad as our state representative he will:

  • Support property tax relief.
  • Eliminate taxes on pensions for seniors.
  • Create a sales tax holiday for back-to-school items to help Wisconsin’s parents and students.
Reduce Red Tape to Grow our Economy and Create Good Jobs

The numbers paint a bleak picture.  Wisconsin has lost over 130,000 jobs in the past year and 160,000 manufacturing jobs since 2000.  For the first time ever Wisconsin has more government workers than manufacturing employees.  Forbes magazine rated our state’s business climate 48th in the nation.
It’s never been clearer that we need a new direction in Madison.  Chad Weininger grew up in a blue collar family with a father who worked at a local manufacturer.  He’ll fight to make sure our paper makers, metal workers, machine shops and all our businesses can continue to offer the kind of jobs that support families and build communities.
Chad Weininger has a long record of helping businesses grow by cutting through red tape of government bureaucracy and believes it’s time we make it easier for businesses to succeed and create good jobs.  If we elect Chad as our state representative he will:

  • Oppose costly job killing mandates for small businesses and families.
  • Support legal reforms to reduce the frivolous lawsuits that drive up costs for consumers and harm job creation.
  • Require deadlines for the government permitting process so that government inaction doesn’t slow job creation.

Defending our Values

Despite tough times, our way of life in Brown County is a special one.  Our work ethic is second to none.  Our devotion to our faith and family always comes first.   We love hunting, fishing, hiking and just being outside.
We can count on Chad Weininger to stand up for our values because he’s one of us.  Chad was born at St Vincent Hospital, grew up in Ashwabenon, went to college at St. Norbert, bought his first home in Allouez and worked for State Senator Rob Cowles, Congressman Mark Green and Mayor Jim Schmitt.
If we elect Chad as our representative he will:

  • Support our Second Amendment and hunting rights.
  • Respect all human life as a gift that deserves protection – both born and unborn.
  • Protect the integrity of our democracy by requiring a photo ID for voting.
